The annual meeting of the provincial SPCA descended into bizarre behaviour Saturday morning at a Halifax hotel. It's a big fight over control and direction of the provincial SPCA. But the ending vote was 81-47 to support the current leadership.
The three-hour closed-door session, attended by about 120 members, was followed by name-calling and yelling at the meeting’s chairman in the hotel lobby. As well, the past president of the society bumped a Chronicle Herald reporter with a door, and an unidentified member shoved the reporter out of the meeting room.

Physical Abuse - Regardless of whether these animals are stolen from the wild or born in captivity, they are wild and exotic animals that need severe training to learn how to perform unnatural “tricks”. Training methods involve muzzles, bull hooks, whips, chains and are only successful when the animals spirit is broken.
