Oh so true! Here in Florida - they bulldoze the groves and name the development after citrus! The best example I can give is the (almost) famous "Orange Blossom Trail" - oh! talk about a ghetto!
But my favorite is an area that was once woods - completely barren now except for ugly houses named Cypress Park. Not a tree there could support the life of a squirrel! I'd laugh... if it wasn't so sad. :(
Yes, it's so true; what an astute observation. In an area where I used to live, they mowed down a lovely wild poppy field and put up a mall...the mall is called Poppyfield Mall. Very sad.
