Groups to File Lawsuit to Have Polar Bears Listed as Endangered

I think we can all agree that the goal of the Bush administration is to screw every living thing on the planet. I mean, these people would waterboard puppies and kittens if they knew it would strengthen their Unlimited Unitary Executive theory.

So, when US Fish and Wildlife said they might list them under the Endangered Species Act, some groups decided to sue to hold them to that.

The Center for Biological Diversity, the Natural Resources Defense Council and Greenpeace on Wednesday submitted a formal notice to federal agencies in Washington, D.C., of their intent to sue the Bush administration for missing the deadline to decide whether polar bears will be listed due to global warming.

A formal notice must be sent before a lawsuit may be filed in federal court. The deadline for Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne's decision on listing was Wednesday.

Kassie Siegel of the Center for Biological Diversity said missing the deadline was illegal and unjustified.

I wish them luck. They'll need it (or at least a sympathetic jury).
