I think Greenpeace has recognised that it isn't enough for groups like itself and Sea Shepherd to send expeditions to the Southern Ocean year after year to harass whalers. This only provides a temporary fix. <BR/><BR/>Pressure needs ot be put on the Japanese government from both the international community and from within Japan itself so that whaling becomes untenable. <BR/><BR/>From what I've seen and heard, the focus of Greenpeace's campaign is shifting to effecting change from within Japan. It's trying to raise awareness of the economically inviable, tax subsidised, and unsustainable whaling industry that damages Japan's international reputation. I think this is an extremely important goal, because this approach will provide a long-term fix. This is what we owe the whales.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
